The project story

A shower cannot be judged only by its final appearance.

The existing floor and finishes were removed to recover a sound base. This allowed the substrate and sensitive areas to be checked and rebuilt in the correct sequence.

Waterproofing, falls and drainage were addressed before the large-format tiles. Black fittings and an integrated niche then give the finished shower a precise contemporary character.

Residential project completed in Zellik, Belgium.

The challenge

Controlling water, falls and junctions in every sensitive area.

A walk-in shower concentrates critical interfaces between substrate, waterproofing, drainage, corners and joints. An invisible mistake can compromise the entire finish.

Our response

Treating the technical layers before composing the visible surfaces.

The substrate was repaired, protected and prepared for large-format tiling. The linear drain, alignment and junctions were integrated into a continuous, easier-care surface.
